Position Summary

Foster Fence is seeking a dependable, safety-conscious Class A CDL Driver to join our team. This position is responsible for safely transporting fencing materials, equipment, tools, and other supplies between our facility, customer locations, and project sites.

The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, comfortable working in an active construction environment, and willing to help wherever needed. This role requires regular communication with our yard, shop, field, and office personnel to ensure materials and equipment are delivered safely, accurately, and on time.

A valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and current DOT medical card are required for this position.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate company trucks, trailers, and commercial vehicles to transport materials, equipment, tools, and supplies to and from job sites.

• Complete local and regional pickups and deliveries as assigned.

• Load, secure, transport, and unload fencing materials and equipment safely.

• Verify loads and delivery information before leaving the facility.

• Ensure materials are delivered to the correct location and appropriate personnel.

• Perform required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.

• Maintain company vehicles in a clean, safe, and professional condition.

• Follow all company safety procedures, traffic laws, and applicable DOT regulations.

• Maintain accurate driver logs, delivery records, inspection documentation, and other required paperwork.

• Communicate with dispatch, project teams, yard personnel, and supervisors regarding deliveries, delays, or job-site needs.

• Assist yard and shop personnel with loading, unloading, organizing materials, and other duties when needed.

• Properly secure loads to prevent damage to company equipment, materials, vehicles, or property.

• Represent Foster Fence professionally when interacting with customers, vendors, contractors, and job-site personnel.

• Perform additional duties as needed to support daily operations.

 

Qualifications

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required.

• Current DOT medical card is required and must be maintained throughout employment.

• Good driving record and ability to meet company and insurance driving requirements.

• Previous commercial driving experience required.

• Experience driving trucks and trailers and transporting construction materials or equipment preferred.

• Knowledge of DOT regulations, proper load securement, and safe transportation practices.

• Ability to safely load and unload construction materials and equipment.

• Ability to complete required vehicle inspections, driver logs, and transportation documentation accurately.

• Ability to follow directions, schedules, and delivery instructions.

• Dependable attendance and punctuality.

• Strong awareness of safety in both roadway and job-site environments.

• Ability to communicate effectively with office, field, yard, and shop personnel.

• Willingness to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.

• Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting, carrying, climbing, bending, and securing materials.

• Must be able to pass all required driving record reviews, background screenings, drug and alcohol testing, and other employment requirements.
