Signs To Replace Your Fence

How You'll Know When It's Time to Replace Your Fence

There are multiple strong materials to make a good fence from steel, iron, aluminum, all good choices in their own right. Unfortunately, they can’t last forever and will need to be replaced eventually. Here are a few signs that it’s time to replace your fence:

Accidental Damage:
Somethings are out of your control and your fence will take some damage outside of the usual wear and tear. Cars, animals, weather, people, strong winds, falling trees, and even more variables are possible. It may not be your fault, but it will still be best to replace a fence that’s dealt with more than it can handle.

Bending:
Any time your fence begins to warp, sag, lean, or anything of that nature its structural integrity takes a hit. Trying to bend it back into place will only make it even less stable, similar to trying to bend a paperclip back into position.

Rust:
This will affect any structure made from iron. Most modern fences can be coated with a rust-resistant material, but still, may develop rust spots. Catching them as soon as possible is important, or the rust will overrun the fence, causing the need for replacement.

Exposed and Damaged Fasteners:
Fasteners (nails or screws) when they start to stick out from the fence, begin to wear, become less secure, and even run the risk of simply falling off. They can even begin to rust on top of all those other issues. It can run the risk of the entire fence falling apart at what would be considered the “seams”.

Deteriorating Welds:
Welds are strong bonding points along the joints, but even they can develop some issues. They tend to rust making them weak and susceptible to falling apart.
